2021 Welcome Events

Move-In Carnival
Thursday, August 19: 6:00-9:00pm

Take a break from moving into your residence hall and enjoy some free food, music, yard games, and t-shirt tie-dying. This event is free to all and will take place just outside the residence hall area on Johnson Field. Come connect with other new students at this fun event.

Friday Night Live
Friday, August 20: 7:00-10:00pm

Join over 2,500 students in the Student Union Building (SUB) from 7:00 – 10:00 pm for the first event of the semester!   The entire building will be full of great events, including games, free food and more.

Discover UNM
Sunday, August 22: 1:00-3:00pm

Information fair held at Student Union Building Ballroom. Come meet with representatives from various units regarding campus resources and services to support your academic and social success.

First-Year Convocation
Sunday, August 22: 4:00pm

First-Year Convocation is a UNM event which is intended to welcome incoming students and their families to the University Community.  The event will include a ceremony, reception, and class crawl. Don’t forget to sign up at ffd.unm.edu

Class Crawl
Sunday, August 22 (After First Year Convocation)

Class Crawl is an opportunity for new students and their families to discover where their classes will be located at the University of New Mexico Main Campus prior to the first day of classes.  Bring your class schedule, and get ready to meet fellow Lobos!

Movie on the Field
Sunday, August 22: 8:00pm

Come watch Raya and the Last Dragon outside Johnson Field starting at 8:00 pm. Bring a blanket and friends for a "drive-in move" experience.

Welcome Back Days
August 23-27

Stop by the duck pond and enjoy the many themes associated with each day.  Meet student leaders, administrators, and learn about campus resources.  You can also visit with campus departments and programs, campus communities, and much more!  Enjoy free food and live entertainment.
